The Team

Ætheric Worlds is made up of a team of individuals with diverse strengths who provide a considerable breadth of knowledge in key areas. These individuals join together across title boundaries to form a working group that is still more than capable of laughing at themselves, and at each other.

Melissa Kell

Melissa Kell

President

Melissa Kell's experience ranges all over, but she focuses on three pertinent areas: multi-player online role playing games, small business administration, and creative writing. Leading a volunteer organization of geographically distributed people, she co-ran the multiplayer online game known as Tales of Ta'veren, based on Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series, between 1995 and 2001. Her experience as manager for a local games and comic store has given her familiarity with the day-to-day realities of small business administration, including both personnel and asset management. Finally, she is an accomplished amateur writer, giving her strong insight into the creative content creation process.

Joseph (JT) Traub

Joseph (JT) Traub

Director of Engineering

Joseph Traub has twenty years of experience in the software industry, working on such projects as AI development, game engine development, compiler development, and multi-threaded processing. His roles have included both individual contributor and group manager, while projects have ranged from small, independent games to large-scale transaction systems.

Michelle Travis

Michelle Travis

Director of Writing

Michelle N. Travis is a professional technical writer with a strong background in creative/graphic production, as well as an accomplished amateur fiction author with four complete novels, numerous short stories, and a strong fan following. In addition to twenty-five years of experience as a game player/designer, she has experience leading teams through projects from start to finish, and is adept at cross-department collaboration.

Juanita Howard

Juanita Howard

Office Manager

Juanita Howard has had 8 years of working in customer service in an office environment as well as practically running the call floor as an unofficial supervisor. She has had training to handle most office work and various programs as well as being very organized. She is also an avid gamer and loves Pen and paper games as well as card games and video games.

Esther Chilcutt

Esther Chilcutt

Marketing Manger

No one is entirely sure that Esther Chilcutt is of this world. Her interests have always been on the fringe of normal, and have led her into some obscure places, including deep underground to the Garden of the Gods at sea level under a mountain in Montana (gaining new appreciation for the concept of "Cave Bacon") and to the top of the "hell mouth" Boca Negra in New Mexico in order to see the Petroglyphs (ancient rock etchings and carvings done by ancestors and more modern settlers on boulders and rocky surfaces throughout history). She believes that understanding the long term effects of art and people on the world naturally leads one to want to effect change, and finding a company that shares her perspective about how business is done by most of our contemporaries put Aetheric Worlds on Esther's map of the must be seen. Joining the company was an absolute joy, matched by the privilege and honor of helping to bring additional people on-board to augment the already exceptional team here.

Alisa Breiling

Alisa Breiling

Concept & Digitial Artist

There is some suggestion that Alisa 'Tygenco' Breiling is on the road to being an artisan by way of dabbling in a variety of media; those who have suggested this have been told to hush because they'll spoil the surprise. She is a casual gamer who enjoys computer and console games, as well as board and card games. When not gaming, she's working on art--which means she could be in the middle of crocheting or up to her elbows in fabric dye.

Dina Robinson

Dina Robinson

Community Relations Manger

Dina Robinson understands that gaming is not a hobby, it's a passion. From RPGs to FPS to MMOs to Strategy games, she has tried them all - but the games that tell a great story and give you goosebumps, those are the best. Today's gamers are much more involved in the whole development process and she understands how to connect with the community. She has been a volunteer for various gaming sites in the past and her experience ranges from moderating forums to addressing concerns submitted by players through various ticket systems. She has over 20 years experience in business management, with a focus on customer service and finance.

Conor Tuohy

Conor Tuohy

Producer & User Researcher

When Conor was five, he re-spooled his favorite cassette tape - 'Dizzy' for the Commodore 64 - after attempting to redesign the game and cut out the parts he didn't like with a pair of scissors. Though his techniques have become slightly more sophisticated, not much has changed since then. As a Usability and User Advocate professional, Conor doesn't like how psychology is being used to 'optimize user pain' in games - he'd much rather make a fun game that makes people happy and not make money than make a game that makes people unhappy in order to make money - use Psychology for good, not evil. Fortunately, the other people at Aetheric agree with him.

Ærick the Chickenfish

Ærick the Chickenfish

Mascot

Ærick comes to us from Tyanaphos, where he and his brethren serve as a major source of food, and sometimes as pets to the Wavecalled. The name Chickenfish was promptly applied to Ærick's species by the Starmade upon first encountering them. According to the Starmade, they taste like chicken. We don't know, as we'd never eat Ærick.
